Allotment, Gardening, Diary

Looking good

it was a nice sunny day and the birds were singing so i enjoyed the two hours i spent on my allotment.

I’ve learnt not to look at the plot as a whole but to break it down into small bits and to do as much on that bit as i can in a day.

none of the seeds that i planted have come up yet but it has only been 5 days. (i am a little impatient) 😛

so the bit that i have chosen is next to the apple tree on the edge of my plot. I’ve only decided to dig over the soil to get rid of the grass. i was doing well until i came across a bramble root.

after a lot of tugging and digging – I WON.

so after about an hour i dug it over and it looks a lot better

Planting

sewing season has officially started. My allotment is still overgrown and looks unloved, but piece by piece it’s going to get better

at home ive planted some tomato, courgette and sunflower seeds. The latter is for the birds.

On the allotment I have planted some lettuce, kale and turnips here:

And I’ve Planted Some rhubarb here. (But this won’t be ready until next year)

And my daffies are doing well. Next time I’m up they should have flowered

My husband likes tilling the soil  which is good cus than I don’t have to do it

Fingers crossed for the lettuce to sprout next week.
